User story

Doversus needed a decision-support platform that would help businesses evaluate and compare different help desk systems in a structured, unbiased way. Choosing a support platform is often complex due to overlapping features, pricing models and integration capabilities, so users required a clear comparison layer that would simplify decision-making and highlight practical differences between solutions.

The goal was to build a content-driven platform that enables structured comparisons, communicates pros and cons of each system, and guides users toward selecting the most suitable help desk solution for their business needs.

Design

How we built it

We developed the platform on a WordPress Multisite architecture using WPBakery as the page-building framework, which at the time (2019) provided a practical solution for managing multiple structured comparison pages efficiently. The system was extended with WooCommerce, which was adapted not for traditional eCommerce, but as a flexible mechanism to manage and structure “platform pages” representing different help desk systems.

Each system was implemented as a structured content entity with consistent comparison layouts, allowing users to evaluate features, strengths and limitations side by side. The architecture supported scalable content expansion, making it possible to continuously add new platforms and comparison pages without restructuring the core system.

The UI was designed around clarity and comparison readability, focusing on side-by-side evaluation, feature breakdowns and structured pros/cons sections. WPBakery allowed rapid assembly of these layouts while maintaining consistent design patterns across the multisite network.

Result

The final platform became a structured decision-making tool that simplified the process of selecting help desk systems by consolidating fragmented product information into clear, comparable formats. Users were able to quickly understand key differences between platforms, evaluate advantages and disadvantages, and make more informed choices based on business needs rather than fragmented marketing materials.

Despite being built with WPBakery and WooCommerce in a multisite setup, the solution effectively supported scalable content growth and long-term maintenance, allowing continuous expansion of the comparison database and improving accessibility of complex product information for end users.
